Hoop-it-Up

Introduction

The sport which never falls short of speed and excitement, one which rides high on adrenaline and energy. Sprinting up and down the court, dribbling and shooting the ball is sure to get your heartbeat up. Come take a spin, swish together and emerge as the champions of “Hoop it up”.

Event Format

  • Each men team can have a maximum of 10 players with 5 active players on the court at any point of time and standard size-7 Basketball will be used.
  • Each women team can have a maximum of 10 players with 5 active players on the court at any point of time and standard size-6 Basketball will be used

Rules

All teams are supposed to report 15 minutes before the scheduled commencement of their matches

MEN

  • Rolling substitutions will be allowed.
  • Clock will be stopped when ball is not in play.
  • Duration: 4 quarters of 10 minutes each with a 2 minute break between the quarters. There will be a break of 5 minutes after 2 quarters.
  • 5 personal fouls per player will be allowed after which the player will not be allowed to play in that match.
  • After 4 team fouls in any quarter, every foul will result in 2 free shots being awarded to the opposite team.
  • 2 time-outs of 30 seconds each will be allowed per quarter per team.
  • In case of scores being level at the end of 4th quarter, 5 minutes of extra time will be played. (1 time out per team will be allowed in this period). The game shall continue with as many extra periods of 5 minutes as necessary to break the tie.
  • The referee’s decisions will be final and abiding for all calls including foul calls.
  • All other standard international full court Basketball rules apply

WOMEN
